The German Federal Government has chosen Nextcloud for secure file sharing
The German Federal Centre for Information Technology (ITZBund) has chosen Nextcloud as its solution for secure file sharing and collaboration in a tender. Nextcloud is operated by ITZBund, the federal government's central IT service provider, and is available to approximately 300,000 users.
ITZBund, the main provider of IT services to the German Federal Government, operates IT services for more than one million administrative and industrial users. It was created by the merger of the Federal Information Technology Agency (a division of the Federal Ministry of the Interior), the Federal Agency for Information Technology Services (a division of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure) and the Information Processing and Information Technology Centre (a division of the Federal Ministry of Finance). ITZBund employs approximately 2,700 people, mainly IT specialists, engineers and network and security professionals.
